Today: Destiny Christian Church to Host Back-to-School Giveaway for 1,000+ Local Kids and Families

Rocklin, CA – August 9, 2025 – Destiny Christian Church is thrilled to announce its annual Back-to-School Giveaway, a community-wide event set to serve 1,000 children and their families. This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, August 9, at the Destiny Community Center, with doors opening at 10:00 AM.
The giveaway will welcome students from Title I schools, local nonprofit organizations, single-parent households, and families with special needs. Every child will receive a backpack filled with essential school supplies, and families will be offered free clothing, fresh produce from a farmers market, diapers, and more.
In addition to meeting tangible needs, the event will offer an atmosphere of joy and celebration, including:
- Free haircuts to help students look and feel confident for the first day of school
- Lunch for every guest
- Fun for all ages with bounce houses, games, and balloon animals
“We want every child to start the school year with confidence and every family to feel supported,” said Mechelle Porter, Director of Outreach. “This is more than an event—it’s a way for our community to come together and remind families they are not alone.”
Lead Pastor Greg Fairrington added, “Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our city. By meeting both practical and emotional needs, we hope to bring hope, dignity, and encouragement to every person who walks through our doors.”
The Destiny Community Center is located at 6850 Five Star Blvd in Rocklin. The event is free and open to the invited families and community partners.
